GASP has developed a patented process for the separation of CO2 from natural gas by cryogenic distillation.

L. A. Pellegrini, “Process for the removal of CO2 from acid gas,” ed: Google Patents, 2014.

• The purity of methane is at commercial grade, with no CO2 solidification;

• the presence of compounds heavier than CO2 increases CO2 solubility in the liquid phase and reduces column diameters;

• the process can be usefully applied when natural gas presents high CO2 (H2S) content;

• the CO2 obtained as bottom product is liquid at high pressure, favorable conditions for EGR/EOR.
