GASP activity in this sector is focused on the selection of the best thermodynamic model to predict pure fluids and mixtures thermophysical properties and phase behavior (LV, LL and SLV equilibria). Literature experimental data are used to optimize the model parameters and to assure a good reliability of results. The application refers directly to process design and simulation. A reliable tool for predicting phase equilibria and thermal properties (enthalpies, heat capacities, densities,…) together with transport properties (diffusivity, thermal conductivity,…) is a key point for a correct simulation, allowing to estimate sound values for equipment sizes and for energy consumptions: the selection of a wrong thermodynamic method can badly affect CAPEX and OPEX estimation.
The thermodynamic model can be implemented in a stand-alone routine or directly linked to a commercial process simulators.
GASP can also simply determine phase envelopes for systems of interest for the customer.
