Camilla Barbieri is a PhD student at Dipartimento di Chimica, Materiali e Ingegneria Chimica “G. Natta” of Politecnico di Milano. She is member of the Group on Advanced Separation Processes & Gas Processing – “GASP”, with research interests focused on thermodynamics, process simulation and the development of a green solvent for the process of CO2 capture from flue gas stream to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to the atmosphere.

She took her M.Sc. degree in Chemical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano in 2022. Her thesis was titled “Collection and analysis of experimental data of phase equilibria of non-ideal systems and study of the azeotropic distillation process” and focused on the collection of vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE) data and liquid-liquid equilibrium (LLE) data of different systems and on the optimization of a new heterogeneous azeotropic distillation process in Aspen Plus® V11.

In 2022, she won a PhD scholarship sponsored by Eni S.p.A. at Politecnico di Milano, where she is currently attending her “Industrial Chemistry and Chemical Engineering” PhD programme.
