GASP boasts extensive experience in modeling and simulating separation processes and reactive systems, both in steady-state and transient conditions, with particular attention on energy saving.

The Process Design and Process Thermodynamics laboratory (PD&PT lab) was born from the need to integrate modeling and simulation activities with experimental activities aimed at collecting data necessary for the validation of the model itself and for the reliability of the simulation results.

In our Process Design laboratory (PD lab), we carry out process simulations, a fundamental tool in the various phases that characterize a production process, such as design, development, analysis, control, and optimization. We specialize in process simulation in various areas, such as carbon dioxide capture and reuse, natural gas purification, downstream separations in bioprocesses, hydrogen sulfide valorization, conversion of hydrogen into transportable carriers.

We use software of proven reliability and robustness (for example, Aspen HYSYS and Aspen Plus), possibly integrated with ad-hoc routines developed by us to better represent the chemical-physical properties of the system under study.

In our Process Thermodynamics laboratory (PT lab), experimental facilities for distillation operation, VLE, VLLE, and CO2 solubility are available.
